Role Overview: The accountant will be responsible for all financial aspects of the business, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
    • Financial Management: Oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
    • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions using accounting software (Xero).
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
    • Management Accounts: Prepare management accounts to provide insights into the financial performance of the business.
    • Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies, including tax filings, VAT returns, and audits.
    • SARS Compliance: Handle all aspects of compliance with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), including tax returns and submissions.
    • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company has adequate funds for operations and growth.
    • Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
    • Support: Provide financial support and advice to management, assisting with strategic planning and decision-making.
 
    • Qualifications:  
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Experience: Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
    • Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (Xero), Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools.
    • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
    • Abilities: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with management and team members
